After serving hundreds of thousands of Christians since 2018, I am convinced that complacency is one of the enemy's favorite weapons. It's subtle, doesn't feel like an obvious ambush, and can easily be misidentified and overspiritualized as rest.
Last week was a mix of new highs followed by closing lows. The Dow crossed 50,000 for the first time since February. The S&P 500 pushed above 7,500 for the first time in its history. By Friday's close, those gains had largely reversed. Moves like this are to be expected when markets get too extended.
While we were in Hawaii, I spent a lot of time collecting shells. The first shell I found was beautiful — whole, large, complete. But for the next couple of hours, almost everything I found was broken pieces. And as always, in full transparency… I was getting frustrated.
